Played first, PUNGO removes about 87.1% of the possible-answer list on average and scores 4.18 bits of information. Its first-turn information ranks #10,144 out of 14,855 Wordle guesses tested. It is not on the possible-answer list, but it can still be useful because of the feedback groups it creates.

Tried against 1,875 past Wordle answers, PUNGO left an average of 302 possible answers standing after the first guess. Its largest group in that replay came on July 29, 2026, when the answer was VALVE and 736 candidates survived.
