Bracket City helper

Resolve nested-clue dependencies and filter spelling candidates for the clue you choose.

Your puzzle

Enter balanced square brackets exactly as currently visible.

Opening-bracket number | answer. Keep the original text while adding answers.

Optional: opening-bracket number | c... (one dot per unknown letter).

Dictionary and candidate scope

The local dictionary is independent of the publisher's accepted list. Names, phrases and short words may need a list you enter.

Used only when Words I enter is selected. Separate 1–48-letter words with spaces or new lines; up to 2,000 words.

The example illustrates the helper; it is not a publisher's daily puzzle.

How the Bracket City helper works

Resolve nested-clue dependencies and filter spelling candidates for the clue you choose. Work from the information you have already revealed; this helper does not fetch an official daily answer.

Results use the puzzle you enter; they are not verified daily answers. Your entries stay out of public URLs.

Follow the dependency

In the original example, bracket 2 is NOT COLD. Once you confirm HOT, bracket 1 becomes OPPOSITE OF HOT. A c... mask then narrows the dictionary spellings while leaving the actual clue judgment to you.

Avoid solving through an unresolved blank

A parent clue may change meaning after its child is filled. The helper rejects a parent replacement while an inner bracket remains unresolved, rather than pretending the missing text is irrelevant.

Keep numbering stable

Numbers follow opening brackets in your original input. Confirmed substitutions are shown in a separate reduced version, so adding an answer does not silently shift all the stored bracket numbers.
