Your daily moment of connection

Missing Links

Ten words. Two missing links.
Find the word that completes each group of five.

A word goes a long way

One connector. Five complete constructions.

Put the same unchanged word immediately before or after each of five tiles. Every combination must be an established word or phrase. The direction can change from tile to tile. Your two groups must use different connectors.

No extra linking words, letter changes, anagrams or changed word endings. A space or hyphen is allowed only when it belongs to the approved construction. You are finding a concrete word, not a category name.

A small, non-daily example: TOOTH + BRUSH and BRUSH + STROKE make toothbrush and brushstroke.

This is a worked example, separate from both the daily puzzle and fixed practice.

FIRE

CAMPFIRE
FIREFLY
FIREPLACE
WILDFIRE
FIREWORK

RAIN

RAINBOW
RAINCOAT
RAINDROP
RAINFALL
RAINFOREST

Think about both halves: FOREST FIRE is also an established phrase. One plausible connection does not settle the board: all ten tiles must fit two complete groups of five.

Select five tiles, move them to either group, type your connector and press Check group. You can select placed tiles to move them again. A correct group locks; the other stays editable.

Hints, saved progress and answer review

Open the hints for either group to choose a gentle clue, an anchor pair of tiles or its connector. Revealing the connector still leaves its tiles for you to arrange. Reopening a hint shows the same information. Hints follow their connector if you solve it in the other group.

Your draft, wrong checks and assistance are saved in this browser. Moving tiles and undoing a draft never remove recorded checks or hints. A full reveal asks you to confirm and records a revealed result.

Boards are screened for a single complete solution in an approved construction lexicon. That is not a proof that no other English phrase exists. If an established answer seems to be missing, use Report an answer issue to send it for review. Your guesses are not sent to analytics.
