Emoji Game helper

Find words or phrases whose missing letters spell an emoji interpretation.

Your puzzle

Paste an emoji, or enter your own meanings below.

Comma-separated interpretations. Groups can have one meaning: several fish may suggest SCHOOL.

Use a dot or underscore for every missing letter. Spaces and punctuation are ignored.

One per line. Needed for expressions or names absent from the word dictionary.

Dictionary and candidate scope

The local dictionary is independent of the publisher's accepted list. Names, phrases and short words may need a list you enter.

Used only when Words I enter is selected. Separate 1–48-letter words with spaces or new lines; up to 2,000 words.

The example illustrates the helper; it is not a publisher's daily puzzle.

How the Emoji Game helper works

Explore literal and associated meanings, keep the printed letters fixed and check which interpretation fills the blanks in order—even when the blanks are separated.

Results use the puzzle you enter; they are not verified daily answers. Your entries stay out of public URLs.

An interpretation can cross printed letters

With pattern ..T..EN and proposed answer BETWEEN, the four blanks supply B, E, W and E. That does not spell BEE, so the bee interpretation fails even though the completed word is valid. Use the exact blank positions rather than a loose association.

Original example: a bee in an unfinished word

For ..EN, the interpretation BEE has three letters but only two blanks exist, so it cannot fit. For ...N, BEE supplies the three missing letters of BEEN. Letter counts provide a useful check before spending a move.

Treat groups as a whole

A collection of animals can suggest a collective noun rather than repeating the individual animal’s name. Add that interpretation to the meanings field. The helper checks it against your pattern without claiming that it is the publisher’s intended association.
