How the Globle helper works
- Feedback measures the shortest distance between land borders, not the distance between country centres.
- Use several observations together; keep a tolerance for differing coordinate and boundary models.
Compare country clues against a 242-feature geographic reference. Results show their reference coverage and evidence links.
Results use the puzzle you enter; they are not verified daily answers. Your entries stay out of public URLs.
Keep border distance distinct from centre distance
Two neighbouring countries can be zero kilometres apart by Globle’s border rule even when their centres are far apart. This helper checks shared mainland boundary vertices before estimating other border distances. For a large country, a centre-based calculation would answer a different question.
Treat approximate distances as leads
The coastline is sampled, so a nonzero estimate can be longer than the true closest-border distance. Results are ranked by their difference from your entered feedback; a mismatch does not remove an otherwise eligible country. Inspect nearby leads and the publisher’s territory rules before spending another guess.
