Why the answer fits

Multiplication and division share precedence and are evaluated left to right: 42 ÷ 7 gives 6, and 6 × 2 gives 12.

The spelling 42/7*2 occupies exactly six symbol positions: two digits, a division sign, a digit, a multiplication sign and a final digit. Equivalent calculations need their own feedback check.
