How the Patches helper works
- Cover the board with nonoverlapping rectangles, one clue each, satisfying any given area and shape.
Find justified moves and inspect how the entered constraints force each one. Work from the information you have already revealed; this helper does not fetch an official daily answer.
Results use the puzzle you enter; they are not verified daily answers. Your entries stay out of public URLs.
Original worked example
The upper-left clue asks for area 2 and a wide shape. On this two-column board its patch must be the top row. The remaining bottom row belongs to the wide clue with unknown area.
Separate a deduction from a possible completion
The helper checks the whole entered state. When enumeration completes, a move is reported as forced only if every valid completion agrees. If the bound is reached, possible completions remain available but no forced move is asserted.
Use the reason before opening the solution
Each move has its own explanation grounded in your rows, cells, clues or markers. Inspect one explanation, apply it in the original game and rerun. The full arrangement is in a separate closed section.
Supported puzzle types
- player-entered state
Scope of this helper
- The existing bounded engine is retained; only exhaustive enumeration supports forced moves.
- Regular boards and supported clue types only; no daily board, difficulty label or publisher hint text is fetched.
