Murdle helper

Prove suspect, weapon, location and motive associations from entered evidence.

Your puzzle

First line suspects: Ada, Ben, Cy. Add 1–3 equally sized categories, with unique item names.

Ada = Knife; Knife != Garden; EITHER Ada = Knife OR Ada = Rope; IF Ada = Knife THEN Ben = Garden. One clause per line.

Only select murderer-lies if your puzzle explicitly uses it.

The example illustrates the helper; it is not a publisher's daily puzzle.

How the Murdle helper works

Prove suspect, weapon, location and motive associations from entered evidence. Work from the information you have already revealed; this helper does not fetch an official daily answer.

Results use the puzzle you enter; they are not verified daily answers. Your entries stay out of public URLs.

A worked association

ADA has KNIFE. With each weapon used once, Ben and Cy must split ROPE and CANDLESTICK. CY cannot have ROPE, so CY has CANDLESTICK and BEN has ROPE. Ada is in HALL and Ben in GARDEN, leaving KITCHEN for Cy.

Enter cross-category evidence

Knife != Garden excludes a weapon/location pairing even before either owner is known. EITHER uses exactly one true association. IF is a one-way implication, not an equivalence.

Use the statement variant precisely

In murderer-lies mode, write STATEMENT Ada: Ben = Rope. That association is true if Ada is innocent and false if Ada is the murderer. KILLER = Ada is also permitted as entered evidence. The engine checks the full matching together with the statement truth rule; it does not assume every version of Murdle uses lying statements.

Check contradictions before revealing

If no arrangement exists, inspect transcription and category uniqueness first. The tool does not silently drop an inconvenient clue. Full example arrangements are separately closed because more than one may satisfy the evidence.
