Letter operations in Connections
Show each input, exact addition/removal/reversal, and resulting string.
How to test the relationship
Name one exact operation and apply it consistently. Removing a first letter, reversing a whole word and rearranging letters are different rules. Check the entire output, including doubled letters and spaces, before interpreting its meaning.
Worked original example 1
Reverse the entire spelling: STRESSED → DESSERTS; DRAWER → REWARD; LIVE → EVIL. Apply the same operation to every entry.
Worked original example 2
Remove exactly the first letter: SPARK → PARK; STONE → TONE; PLATE → LATE. Apply the same operation to every entry.
Worked original example 3
Reverse the entire spelling: LEVEL → LEVEL; RADAR → RADAR; CIVIC → CIVIC; ROTOR → ROTOR. Apply the same operation to every entry.
When a tempting match falls short
Applying the stated reverse operation to DRAWER gives REWARD, not DRAW. The candidate therefore fails this specific test. This letter comparison makes no claim about whether a resulting string is a dictionary word.

KAYAK, LEVEL, MOM and RACECAR each equal their own reversal. The letter-operations tag records that exact property of the official PALINDROMES group; it does not describe a topic or infer setter intent.
